Following oil spill from the MV Wakashio at Pointe d’Esny, the public is informed that there is an established protocol that must be adhered to so as to enhance the chance of survival of animals (especially birds/seabirds) caught in the spill.
The public and volunteers are urged not to try to clean the animals by themselves but are requested to notify the National Parks and Conservation Service (NPCS) of any animals encountered in such a state.
Officers of the NPCS, who are available on 5251 1984 and 5789 2013, will arrange for collection of the animals.
